A first-party audit is another term for an internal audit. Internal audits must be performed on a regular basis as an NDIS provider. Apart from being a legal necessity, it provides assurance that the organization’s processes and procedures achieve the desired results. The frequency of internal audits is not specified within the standards.However, it is advised that a three-year plan be developed and that the whole scope of the organisation be audited every three years. Please keep in mind that the certification term is only good for three years. During their examination, Approved Quality Auditors will request information from the most recent internal audit.
